I posted this on the BGAFD off topic forum but since some of you who are on here don't go there I thought i would broach this here. Good idea? Bad idea? A US fiendish government conspiracy to expose us?

one problem ..if they do release .xxx would they then ban adult on .com and would there be a fight for domain names or do we get to keep our current domains on .xxx

That idea has been doung the rounds for years but ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) kicked it into touch for the forseeable future a few weeks back.

If this had gone through or if it goes ahead in the future no you would not get to automatically get the .xxx version of your .com unless you own the trademark on your existing domain name.
