Why I don't buy UK porn

Hey, I'm the first person to post here...I will go down in history for this.LOL!

Snatched this off the BGAFD. Luke Olsen had something to say about UK porn. I thought it would be appropriate to have here...My series was mentioned as well as a bunch of others.

I'm not against UK porn at all, as long as it's good, although if I can, I'll try and get an original version of US titles rather than the R18 version, simply because I find it ludicrous that there are certain things that everyone in the US is allowed to see, and that BBFC examiners are allowed to see, but I'm not.:confused:

I would say I'm more against R18/UK porn retail...there's plenty of good UK produced website content that doesn't have to pass via the censor, plus I like the fact that buying direct from the producer usually means more money for them to re-invest in their next production. I think if producers could get a little more money, and raise performers rates a little to make them commensurate with the US (as Rob Stone was recently suggesting), then perhaps we wouldn't see so much top drawer talent flocking stateside.

The other side of this coin is the amount of work available...there are far more opportunities for girls in America because it's an open market....the fact we have talent and producers going over to Prague and Budapest speaks volumes about the state of the UK industry when you consider that the combined population of both the Czech Republic and Hungary is about one-third that of the UK.

Over here, a lot of the store chains also have their own range of titles, and the independent producer/seller has little to no leeway in terms of price etc, as if the product is R18, they have very few other legal methods of selling it. I don't like to support this system, therefore if I'm going to buy UK porn, I'll look for non-R18 stuff.

for a kick off the BBFC/R18 rules etc mean absolutley nothing to me because basically i can see all i want to see in movies with that rating, and i think that goes for most of the men i know that buy UK porn.

i will always buy UK porn as apposed to US stuff because i find it infinitely more entertaining, the US obsession with fake tits, pointless storylines, over the top vocal performances from the girls, 'Athena Man' face pulling from the guys and pathetic attempts at difused-lens erotica is frankly laughable.it may be hard and full on sex but its pretty boring aswell.
i also think the US porn industry is big enough and doesn`t need any help from our relativley small market share.

producers look to Eastern Europe for talent because its cheap, not because its any better. we should support our home grown talent in the same way we should support home grown anything, with out the money going in how can we expect big budgets on the product coming out.

Can I just point out about the cheaper in europe comment? Its not that much cheaper at all. In fact if you include the x's it works out more.

It probably was a load cheaper before the bums rush of producers that went there. "There be gold in them thar hills!". The europeans have wised up since then. Top girls command 4 figure sums now for doing less than you think because the americans have nailed it into them that they are such a commodity now and to tell the truth..they are...

What I like about working with europeans is how they work. They are sooo good and worth every penny in my book but because of their professionalism, it sometimes lacks spontaneity which I favour more with the British shoots.

Iwasnt objecting to his post. I found him rather agreeable and he does address specific problems in a constructive way. None of us as producers are infallible. Nor did I feel it was an attack on UK porn...some valid comments made for sure which is why I posted it here for those to make of as they will.

It would be even better if producers here were to comment on what they think of Lukes post but I guess everyone has the right to not act on by answering too.

I wouldnt say there is anything wrong with UK porn after all its horses for courses but for my personal taste I'd have to agree with luke and say in general producers from other countries have a go at entertaining rather than just creating wank foder. There is a saying kiss me before you fuck me which is sadly lacking in UK porn and perhaps im old fashioned in my 36 years on this planet but i kind of like to think that what i am watching could happen

It’s like everything else, some good some bad. If UK porn is bad is it because the producer is bad? Maybe the producer knows that as soon as he puts his work out onto the market it will be devalued by the price the distributors want to pay for it and the price the punter expects it for.
Is it worth putting money into a well-produced program in the UK? Is it going to get the sales it needs to get the money back? OK so we can sell to the USA and as most of us know we will only get a fraction of what is due to us, from the distributor, a long way to go to sort it out.
I have had my fill of the British hardcore business. Next year it’s back to shooting top line single girls for me. That’s the one constant we do have. The best-looking girls in the business. Viva Venice!
